We understand the value that content creators bring to our purpose because we were founded by creators, and they’ll always remain at the heart of Packsia. Earlier this year we launched our Creator Program, which aims to create an entire community of talented digital artists creating aesthetic video content formatted for social media.
Since the beginning of the year, our Creator program has expanded to over 50 countries across the globe and has one of the highest royalty rates in the entire stock media industry. We have always believed that creators deserve more time in the sun, so we’re spotlighting the incredible talent within our Creator Program right here on our blog.
MEET ALE VIDAL, AKA
AV Creative
Ale Vidal was truly born to be a filmmaker. Her eye for capturing intoxicatingly romantic and feminine micro-films is one that few naturally possess and many try to attain. One might describe her work as visual poetry that portrays evocative storytelling that has a magical way of pulling the audience right into the video. Her work contains pastel floral palettes and movement so subtle, you might mistake her work for a Renaissance still life. Her Ethereal Blooms Pack is a top-trending pack on Packsia for good reason.
We sat down with Ale to discuss how she got into content creation and what keeps her inspired in her work. We hope you find this conversation as inspiring as we did!
SMP: HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN VIDEOGRAPHY?
AV: I worked on a documentary out of college after studying Film Studies and funnily enough, I got into photography first. Someone on set had a DSLR and taught me how to use it manually to understand exposure, frame rate, and shutter speed. For the first time I felt like I could shape a vision I had in mind and experiment with light. From there, I embraced my very feminine style and love of motion, and began to incorporate video into my work.
SMP: WHAT INSPIRES YOU WHEN CREATING VIDEO/MOTION PACKS?
AV: I always think about transporting a viewer. I ask myself - how can I bring a moment of beauty and pause into their day? I focus on sensory experiences and design a visual that someone could imagine themselves hearing, smelling, tasting, or touching.
SMP: HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR AESTHETIC/STYLE?
AV: Sensitive, feminine, and other-worldly.
SMP: WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO FUTURE CREATORS WITH SOCIAL MOTION PACKS?
AV: First, brainstorm a series such as seasons, or a target market (beauty, health and wellness, etc.), and imagine one moment that could feel applicable to that concept. Then, think about that vertical framing, who the video is for, what mood it will set, and don't be afraid to lean into your personal aesthetic. And finally, when you create, imagine a moment like a photo and then think of adding a few elements of motion. Keep it simple and make the movement intentional.
